The Institute of Interfaith
Dialog of Lubbock representatives visited Abilene Christian University (ACU).
Some of the ACU academics are going to go to Turkey that they hosted
representatives at the campus. Mr. Hafizoglu who is the representative of the
IID did presentation about Turkey, Turkish culture, people`s life style and
another fact of the Turkey like Turkey is at the intersection of Europe and
Asia and has 200 million residents.
Istanbul is located on two continents. The Grand Bazaar is the largest mall in the
world Early Christians hid from the
Romans 2000 years ago in the caves of Anatolia. Prophet Abraham was born in
Turkey. .

Trip to Turkey 2009
|
This summer’s tour group included teachers, university
professors and administrators, a seminary librarian and
research director, legislators, a student, a diplomat,
and an orthodontist organised by The Institute of Interfaith Dialog. (See the complete list at the end of this article). The group visited ancient cities; met with professional organizations, businesspeople, teachers, and students; laughed and chatted with Turkish families; and enjoyed the intriguing and delicious Turkish cuisine. The starting and ending place was Istanbul, one

Faculty Delegation Takes Interfaith Trip to Turkey

The rich culture, history, and landscape of Turkey were experienced through the eyes of University of St. Thomas administrators and faculty from across the disciplines ranging from theology and international studies to business and education. The group of 13 made the 10-day journey to Turkey in May, after the University received an invitation from the Houston-based Institute of Interfaith Dialog (IID).

After having dinner with the group, orientation was held right after.The trip to Turkey will be about 11 days and they will hopefully see some cities of Turkey including Istanbul, Izmir,Antalya, Konya, Sanliurfa, and Capadocia.

Institute of Interfaith Dialog Turkey Trip participants have helped planting 2,000 tree saplings in the Texas-Antalya Friendship Commemorative Forest on June 9 2009 in Antalya, Turkey. The forest has been established by $10,000 worth of donations raised in Texas by Raindrop Helping Hands.

People who participated to the trip to Turkey had a reunion at Raindrop Turkish House in April, 2009. After having dinner, they watched a slideshow of the pictures taken in Turkey. Guests enjoyed Turkish tea while getting information about ongoing and upcoming Raindrop Turkish House activities.

Lubbock-Institute of Interfaith Dialog is organizing an outstanding Trip to Eurasia: Republic of Georgia, Republic of Azerbaijan, Republic of Kazakhstan and Turkiye. Tbilisi, Baku, Almaata, Istanbul will be visited in two weeks. These are important countries that reflect the cultural diversity of civilizations that once existed on this land and contributed significantly to today's establishments.
