Lubbock Branch hosted January session of newly started Intellectual Talk series titled “General Issues in Lubbock.” The program started with introductory remarks by the IID Lubbock Representative and continued with the keynote speech given by District 3 City Council member and Lubbock’s own, Mr. Todd R. Klein.

Mr. Glen Robertson, City of Lubbock Mayor, welcomed Lubbock Branch along with Texas Turkish Chamber of Commerce on Friday January 18, 2013. In addition to informing our Mayor about our culture center and its activities, Mr. Hafizoglu, our Lubbock branch representative, have presented the gift to Mr. Robertson as a token of our appreciation for his kindness and warm welcome.

The Institute of Interfaith Dialog Lubbock Branch in collaboration Raindrop Turkish House had celebrated early the thanksgiving with neighbors and friends on November 17, 2012. The Institute hosted more than 50 guests from all walks of life including congregation leaders, academics, city officials, neighbors of the Raindrop Center, teachers, students, and members of different faith traditions.

Institute of Interfaith Dialog organized an intercultural trip to Turkey on June 5, 2011. Honory guest from Lubbock experience Turkey's emerging role as a democratic model. The 17th-century Blue Mosque provides a backdrop for the group during a tour of Istanbul. Our guest were Kay Borne, Assistant Director of Fox Tv, Christy Martinez, Latino Lubbock Magazine Publisher, and Terry Fanning.
