Sister Martha Ann Kirk, Th.D. presented a lecture titled "Seeds of Peace: Solidarity, Aid, and Education” among persons inspired by Fethullah Gülen in Southeastern Turkey. She shared her research in this violence torn region, as a model of peace building for other places.
This lecture series has been organized by San Antonio Institute of Interfaith Dialogue and by the SoL Center at University Presbyterian Church, 300 Bushnell Ave, San Antonio, Texas 78212. (April 26, 2009)

Three Sunday Series - An Introduction to the Institute of Inter-Faith Dialogue Three Sunday Lecture Series titled an Introduction to the Institute of Inter-Faith Dialogue and the Muslim Leader Fethullah Gülen have been organized by San Antonio Institute of Interfaith Dialogue and SoL Center. College professors and graduate students who visited Turkey as guests of local families, presented lectures about their research on a model of peace-building that has been implemented in Southeastern Turkey.(April 19, 26, May 3)

IID Family Gathering San Antonio IID families gathered in Raindrop Cultural Center. They enjoyed with delicious food, warm conversation. Special prayer program also organized for new born baby.
The first “Alumni of Turkey Trips Dinner”, organized by the Institute of Interfaith Dialog and co-sponsored by the Raindrop Turkish House, was held at the San Antonio Raindrop Turkish House, the new home of San Antonio IID and Raindrop Turkish House, located at 4337 Vance Jackson Rd. Ste 203.
San Antonio Institute of Interfaith Dialog in collaboration with the Gulen Institute and Raindrop Turkish House organized 4th Annual Annual Friendship & Dialog Dinner. The dinner took place at the Club at Sonterra, the Ballroom on Thursday, September 25, 2008 at 7:00pm.
Distinguished speakers include Mayor Phil Hardberger, State Representative Ruth McClendon, Justice Rebecca Simmons, Judge Tom Rickhoff, Richard Perez (President of Chamber of Commerce).

Bridge Between Civilizations: Trip to Turkey - October 2008 A group of distinguished guests from San Antonio traveled in Turkey as part of the IID's traditional dialog trips. Guests enjoyed the Turkish hospitality and culture as well as the ancient historical places in Turkey. The group started its journey from Istanbul with the Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque, Kayseri, Capadocia, Konya, Antalya (ancient Roman cities), Ephesus and House of Virgin Mary. As it had been expressed many times by the guests, it has been a "life changing experience."
San Antonio Institute of Interfaith Dialog organized dialog trip to Balkans. Participants enjoyed the historical and cultural treasures of Balkans, a living example of the harmony of different faiths for centuries. Bosnia, Albania, Macedonia, and Turkey were visited during this trip. These are important countries that reflect the cultural diversity of civilizations that once existed on this land and contributed significantly to today’s establishments.
