The Institute of Interfaith Dialog , invites you to join a Late Thanksgiving Dinner at 5:30PM on Sunday, Dec 9th.

Tulsa Metropolitan Ministry's Executive Director Rev. Ray Hickman and Sister Melek Oyludag will talk about the meaning of "Thanksgiving" from their Christian and Muslim traditions perspectives.

 Islam and democracy can be compatible, according to a Turkish author and political commentator who spoke  Tuesday at the annual Institute of Interfaith Dialog friendship dinner.

In response to the U.S. Embassy attack in Libya, representatives from the Oklahoma Institute of Interfaith Dialog and the Raindrop Turkish House, 4444 W. Houston St., issued a statement condemning the violence.

 “The Institute of Interfaith Dialog and Raindrop Turkish House condemn, in the strongest possible terms the mindless and brutal attack against the U.S. Embassy in Libya,” according to the statement.

Dr. Charles Kimball is Presidential Professor and Director of Religious Studies at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, OK. Between 1996 and 2008, he served as Chair of the Department of Religion and the Divinity School at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC.

On his speech, Dr. Kimball talked about the intersection of religion and politics, and its positive and negative effects on our lives and our attitudes towards people whom we consider as "others."
