Institute Interfaith Dialog at Jackson, MS is organizing this year's Friendship Trip to Turkey for Mississippi House Representatives. Representative of Raindrop Turkish House at Jackson, MS Fatih Ozcan gave a presentation to Mississippi House Representatives about the trip at Mississippi Capitol on March 17, 2010. At the presentation, Mr. Ozcan gave brief information about Turkey including its history, economy, culture, cuisine and etc. Additionally, house representatives were informed about approximate itinerary of the trip and were very exited about the trip.

The representatives of Institute Interfaith Dialog at Jackson, MS visited the Associate Professor at JSU Carrine H. Bishop on March 8, 2010. Dr. Carrine H. Bishop knows IID and Raindrop Turkish House for a quite short time. But she is always glad to meet with IID representatives and always open for inter-cultural friendship. The representatives of the Raindrop Turkish House gave Prof. Jean Farish brief information about Friendship trips to Turkey being organized by Institute Interfaith Dialog each year. Prof. Jean Farish was also invited to join the trip this summer.

Prof. Jean Farish attained the Annual Interfaith Dialog Dinner last year and knows IID and Raindrop Turkish House for a quite short time. Institute Interfaith Dialog at Jackson, MS hosted Mississippi House Representatives Dirk Dedeaux and Henry Zuber III on March 8, 2010. Two representatives were served with Turkish food, tea and baklava. After the dinner the representatives watched a short video clip about trips to Turkey being organized by Raindrop IID every year. Both Mississippi House Representatives were invited to join the Friendship trip to Turkey this year in order to explore more about Turkish people, culture and Turkey itself.
IID at Jackson, MS made a presentation of Turkish art of marbling "Ebru" on March 5th, 2010. All guests including students attaining Turkish courses at Millsaps College were served with Turkish cookies and coffee. The word ebru (water face) means in Turkish the technique of paper marbling. Around the end of 16th century, tradesmen, diplomats and travelers coming to Anatolia brought this art to Europe and after the 1550s booklovers in Europe prized ebru which came to be known as "Turkish Marbled paper making".
Institute of Interfaith Dialog (IID) hosted the Judge from Mississippi Court of Appeal (District 5, Position2) David M. Ishee on March 2, 2010. Judge David M. Ishee was served with Turkish food and got brief information about Institute of Interfaith Dialog (IID). Additionally, representatives of the cultural center informed Judge David M. Ishee about the trip to Turkey being organized by Institute of Interfaith Dialog (IID) this year. Judge David M. Ishee was invited to the trip and he was pleased by Turkish hospitality and friendship.
The Institute of Interfaith Dialog and Jackson Raindrop Turkish House representatives visited the president of Jackson State University (JSU) Dr. Ronald Mason, Jr. on February 25, 2010. Dr. Ronald Mason, Jr. was acknowledged about Turkish cultural center and The Institute Of Interfaith Dialog at Jackson, Mississippi and their activities. Additionally, Dr. Mason was invited for the next Friendship Trip To Turkey which will be organized in this summer.
Mississippi chapter of The Institute of Interfaith Dialog , with sponsorships of Raindrop Turkish House , The Gulen Institute and Intercultural Dialog Student Association in Mississippi Collage has organized its 6th Annual Dialog and Friendship Dinner on October 22nd, 2009 at Hilton Jackson Hotel in Jackson, MS.
Theme of the event was “Dialog between East & West”. Around 300 distinguished guests including elected officials, Senators, State Representatives, Mayors, Security Officers such as State Judges, FBI agents, Police Chiefs, Fire Chiefs, City Prosecutors, University Presidents, Community and religious leaders and students were present at the the dinner and shared their tables with one another.

State University Early Childhood Education students at Raindrop Turkish House
in Jackson . Program has started with a presentation about diversity and
historical heritage of Turkey. Fatih Ozcan, Mississippi Representative of The
Institute of Interfaith Dialog gave small presentation regarding diversity in
Education and shared his experience in USA. Mr. Ozcan emphasized the necessity
of establishing real dialog with students to be able to find realistic
solutions for students' problems. Establishment of positive teacher-student
dialog is must for education.
