  • IID visited the JSU President Dr. Ronald Mason, Jr.

    The Institute of Interfaith Dialog and Jackson Raindrop Turkish House representatives visited the president of Jackson State University (JSU) Dr. Ronald Mason, Jr. on February 25, 2010. Dr. Ronald Mason, Jr. was acknowledged about Turkish cultural center and The Institute Of Interfaith Dialog at Jackson, Mississippi and their activities. Additionally, Dr. Mason was invited for the next Friendship Trip To Turkey which will be organized in this summer.

  • 6th Annual Intercultural Dialog and Friendship Dinner

    Mississippi chapter of The Institute of Interfaith Dialog , with sponsorships of Raindrop Turkish House , The Gulen Institute and Intercultural Dialog Student Association in Mississippi Collage has organized its 6th Annual Dialog and Friendship Dinner on October 22nd, 2009 at Hilton Jackson Hotel in Jackson, MS.
    Theme of the event was “Dialog between East & West”. Around 300 distinguished guests including elected officials, Senators, State Representatives, Mayors, Security Officers such as State Judges, FBI agents, Police Chiefs, Fire Chiefs, City Prosecutors, University Presidents, Community and religious leaders and students were present at the the dinner and shared their tables with one another.

  • IID hosted Jackson State University Early Childhood Education students

    The Institute of Interfaith Dialog (IID) hosted Jackson State University Early Childhood Education students at Raindrop Turkish House in Jackson . Program has started with a presentation about diversity and historical heritage of Turkey. Fatih Ozcan, Mississippi Representative of The Institute of Interfaith Dialog gave small presentation regarding diversity in Education and shared his experience in USA. Mr. Ozcan emphasized the necessity of establishing real dialog with students to be able to find realistic solutions for students' problems. Establishment of positive teacher-student dialog is must for education.

  • IID has visited The Mayor of Jackson Harvey Johnson, Jr.

    mayorana.jpg    The Institute of Interfaith Dialog Representatives at Jackson, MS has visited the Mayor of Jackson Harvey Johnson, Jr. at his office. They gave brief information about IID and talked about Turkey trips. Mayor Harvey Johnson, Jr. was invited to the office of Raindrop Turkish House at Jackson.

  • The Institute of Interfaith Dialog has hosted Mississippi Humanities Council Members
    humcon1.jpg    The Institute of Interfaith Dialog hosted Mississippi Humanities council members at Raindrop Turkish House on September 22nd, 2009.  Program has started with having lunch prepared by local IID volunteers. Following a presentation about Turkey and Turkey's historical and cultural heritage, participants discussed how to improve future relationship and have exchanged their information for future dialog.

  • Ramadan Iftar Dinner with Hinds County Police Officers

    seriff.jpgThe Institute of Interfaith Dialog (IID) hosted Hinds County Sheriff Malcolm E. and Hinds County Police Department Heads and Police officers for Ramadan Iftar Dinner at Raindrop Turkish House. A representative from FBI and local Turkish-American families were also present at the program. Examples of the traditional Turkish cuisine prepared by volunteer Turkish-American Families were a “Turkish Delight” for the evening. The dinner was followed by a speech from Fatih Ozcan, Mississippi Represantative of IID, and Sheriff McMillan’s remarks.

  • Ramadan Iftar Talk: Preventing another September 11

    The tragic events like September 11 and following reactions showed that followers of Abraham should take responsibility to work together. Not only those who lost their life and who lost their relatives and friends, but rest of the world effected because of such a terrorist activity. In this regard, the Institute of Interfaith Dialog organized a special dinner called "Ramadan Iftar Talk; Preventing another September 11."  on September 11th, 2009 at Raindrop Turkish House in Jackson, MS.

They gave brief information about Institute of Interfaith Dialog and talked about Turkey trips. Sheriff Malcolm E. McMillin was invited to IID office at Jackson for dinner and also to Turkey.
