The Institute of Interfaith Dialog Little Rock branch organized "Dinner of Abrahamic Tradigions" on August 28, 2010. The theme of the program was "Fasting in Abrahamic Traditions" since muslims around the world observe the month of Ramadan in which they fast 30 days. Three speakers from three Abrahamic faiths; Rabbi Eugene Levy, George Hankins Hull, and Dr. Mehmet Ulupinar talked about the role of fasting in their respective faiths. There was a group of listeners from different congregations who have been informed about the importance of fasting and what it means.
This dinner was the first one in Little Rock and will continue to take place every six months for the members of faith community.

Islam 101 Presentation Given at UCA As a part of weekly book club meetings for residential hall students at University of Central Arkansas Dr. Peter Mehl, Associate Dean of College of Liberal Arts, has invited Mr. Mehmet Ulupinar for a presentation about Islam. The presentation lasted about one hour before more than 30 undergraduate students as well as several faculty members. Question and answer session followed the presentation with the participation of several students and faculty.
Institute of Interfaith Dialog Little Rock branch has organized the Fifth Intercultural and Friendship Dialog Dinner on Thursday October 1, 2009 at Embassy Suites Hotel in Little Rock. Main sponsor of the event was IID along with the Gulen Institute. The program attracted participants from a variety of institutions including universities, faith groups, and civic organizations. More than 150 individuals enjoyed Turkish baklava, live American Folk music performed by Dr. Ed Hale and Dr. Julie Flinn and live Turkish music performed by Murat
Al. In addition, participants had a chance to listen to Dr. Art English who is a faculty at Political Science Department at UALR and Dr. Alp Aslandogan, IID President.
Dr. Ito gave a speech about Zen Buddhism that currently exists in Japan. Historical background of main stem of Buddhism is mentioned. She defined the concepts of gods in Zen Buddhism. She gave a few examples of how this life become painful for you if you depends others, and pleasure. Finally, spiritual elevation by meditation is described through certain rules of inhaling.
The Institute of Interfaith Dialog (IID) held a monthly dinner on January 29, 2009. After a delicious dinner from Turkish cuisine, Apresentation on the denominations in Christinaity was given by the UALR professor Ed Hale. The historical background and the different traditions were addressed. People from vairousbackgrounds had the opportunity to learn more about Christian religion and having an insight into different traditions.
