The Rt. Rev. Dr. Edward J. Konieczny, Bishop of The Episcopal
Diocese of Oklahoma visited the Institute of Interfaith Dialog. Bishop had
lunch with IID members at the center. After lunch Executive Director of IID
Orhan Kucukosman gave a brief presentation about the mission and vision of the
institute as well as the activities. Bishop Konieczny emphasized the importance
of working together as well as the necessity of interfaith/intercultural dialogue in today's world.

Luncheon Forum with Dr.Charles Kimball
On January 25, 2012, The Institute of Interfaith Dialog, Oklahoma City hosted Dr. Kimball at the Raindrop Turkish House, as keynote speaker at a luncheon forum featuring the intersection of religion and politics.
Charles Kimball is Presidential Professor and Director of Religious Studies at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, OK. Between 1996 and 2008, he served as Chair of the Department of Religion and the Divinity School at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC.

Interfaith Volunteers Bring Holiday Cheers to the Local Nursing Home Residents
On December 15, 2011, the volunteers of the Institute of InterfaithDialog brought holiday cheer to the senior residents of Bluebonnet Housein College Station. Bringing roses, fresh fruits and smiles, thevolunteers enjoyed playing an energetic game of bingo with residents andvisiting in individual’s rooms. The visit was very much appreciated bythe residents and staff and enriching to the visitors.

IID October Get-Together: Love of Neighbor
The Institute of Interfaith Dialog organized its monthly get together on Friday, October 28, 2011. This month, the theme of the presentations was “Love of Neighbor”, which is a crucial factor that ties people of a society. The program had eight speakers from diverse backgrounds and different countries such as Spain, Singapore, USA, Turkey, Kazakhstan, India, and Mexico.

IID Get-Together September: Tea and Coffe Making Culture
The Institute of Interfaith Dialog organized its monthly get together at Raindrop Turkish House on September 30th. The program started with a warm-up activity. Guests were asked to smell different kinds of teas and guess what kind they are. There was a gift for the friend who made the best prediction. The program continued with three presentations. First presentation was about Turkish tea and coffee. History of Turkish coffee and tea, preparation of tea & coffee, and the importance of Turkish tea & coffee were presented. Then, Japanese Tea Ceremony (Sadou) was presented by Associate Professor Winfried Teizer from Texas A&M University. The meaning and preparation of ceremony was explained. The last presentation was from South America and it was about mate. Tradition and significance of mate was presented. At the end of the presentation mate was served to the guests. Proceeding, delicious Turkish refreshments and tea were served. Meanwhile, we had great conversations in such a friendly atmosphere. The Institute of Interfaith Dialog is grateful all who joined and prepared the food.

Noah’s Pudding
Noah’s Pudding
The Institute of Interfaith Dialog (IID), and the Intercultural and Interfaith Dialogue Student Association (IIDSA) volunteers served free “Noah’s pudding” at the First United Methodist Church, Lawrence after Sunday worship. Our volunteers served the delicious pudding to the church community as well as the story of Prophet Noah and the Noah's pudding.
