The Institute of Interfaith Dialog (IID) hosted Jackson State University Early Childhood Education students at Raindrop Turkish House in Jackson . Program has started with a presentation about diversity and historical heritage of Turkey. Fatih Ozcan, Mississippi Representative of The Institute of Interfaith Dialog gave small presentation regarding diversity in Education and shared his experience in USA. Mr. Ozcan emphasized the necessity of establishing real dialog with students to be able to find realistic solutions for students' problems. Establishment of positive teacher-student dialog is must for education.
Following Mr. Ozcan's presentation, students asked some questions related to diversity in cultures. Some of the students commented that we are able to understand others, different life styles, and different problems we can face in our community, but through this kind of meetings we can overcome prejudices and eliminate misunderstandings and wrong information in our community.
