We, The Institute of Interfaith Dialog, are deeply saddened by the loss and damage the recent tornado caused in Oklahoma, especially in Moore.  We are mourning with those who are suffering from the devastation left by the tornado.

Our hearts and thoughts go to all of those who are affected by the “storm of the storms”. We offer our condolences and prayers for the families and loved ones who have been affected by this tragic natural disaster.

Institute of Interfaith Dialog El Paso chapter organized an interreligious panel for representatives of the Abrahamic traditions about ”Death and Afterlife" on April 30, 2013. More than 150 guests attended the event and enjoyed the meal prepared by volunteer families. The theme was presented by the three Abrahamic faiths: Judaism, Christianity and Islam representatives in the panel.

Mr. Perryn Leech talked to a group of distinguished guests about the role of the arts in our society during his presentation at IID’s Uptown Talk Series at Galleria. Mr. Leech, the CEO of the Houston Grand Opera, underlined the importance of arts and why we should have our school curriculum include more arts and field trips to theaters.

        We are delighted to announce that Mr. Fethullah Gulen, an inspiration for many of our volunteers and donors, was named as one of TIME Magazine’s 100 most influential people in the world in 2013.

Q: In our modern day, the relationship between Islam and terrorism is greatly debated. Can terrorism be considered a way of struggle for freedom? What is the Islamic alternative to terrorism and struggle?

Fethullah Gulen: As I said in an interview with Nuriye Akman for Daily Zaman, today, at best we can say that Islam is not known at all.

The Institute of Interfaith Dialog condemns the horrific bomb attack on the people in Boston during the marathon. It was a senseless act of violence that accomplished nothing more than the infliction of unbearable pain on victims and their families. We offer our condolences and prayers for those affected by this senseless act of violence.
