The Institute of Interfaith Dialog (IID) hosted University
of Texas El Paso (UTEP) and El Paso Community College (EPCC) students. Members of different
faith and cultural background were seated around a table and enjoyed
conversation during the dinner. The meals were prepared by the local IID members of the Turkish
community. The interaction among the cultures and faiths represented was heart warming.

The Institute of Interfaith Dialog (IID) Representatives of El Paso had a courtesy visit to State, County, and City officials. IID representatives received warm welcome by the officials. IID volunteers gave brief information about IID, upcoming event of the institute, and talked about Turkey trips. Both parties emphasized the importance of working together closely by touching base the necessity of interfaith/intercultural dialogue in today's world.
El Paso chapter of the Institute of Interfaith Dialog (IID) has started Friday Socials. With the sponsorship of
Raindrop Turkish House, IID brought different members of El Paso Community
together at "Friday-Social" program. Participants
enjoyed eating Turkish food prepared by local Turkish-American volunteer families. Dr.Joe Heyman, Chairperson of Dept. of Anthropology at UT El Paso shared his Spain trip experience with guests.
Institute of Interfaith Dialog (IID) El Paso chapter organized a Friendship and Dialog dinner with El Paso County Sheriff Richard Wiles and his staff.Delicious Turkish dishes served to guests. Sheriff Wiles expressed his gratitude to IID volunteers for warm welcoming and friendship. IID volunteers gave a presentation about Institute of Interfaith Dialog, Trips to Turkey , and importance of Interfaith Dialog. Good fellowship and lively conversation made the evening a success.
Islam in general were discussed in four day talk series in Tepeyac Institute . The talks were about the view of Islam to other religions, the preception of women and jihad issue, the belief and practices, and how Islam can contribute to interfaith dialog. At the end of these educational talk series , participants asked some questions and added their comments.

After having dinner with the group, orientation was held right after.The trip to Turkey will be about 11 days and they will hopefully see some cities of Turkey including Istanbul, Izmir,Antalya, Konya, Sanliurfa, and Capadocia.
The Institute of Interfaith Dialog (IID) in El Paso organized Dialog between East and West, a panel discussion like program with the cooperation of Raindrop Turkish House on May 15, 2009 at Vista Hills Country Club,El Paso, TX. There were more than 60 participitants such as City Rep., people from some media groups, professors and religious leaders.The first speaker introduced IID, their activities, and some interfaith-intercultural dialog organizations. Dr. Aurolyn Lukx, shared herthoughts on how civic institutions and we as individuals can promote peace in the world. Dr. Howard Campbell talked about how anthropological concepts can help to promote intercultural dialog.The event is ended with the question answer session and closing remarks.
People who participated to the trip to Turkey had a reunion at Raindrop Turkish House in April, 2009. After having dinner, they watched a slideshow of the pictures taken in Turkey. Guests enjoyed Turkish tea while getting information about ongoing and upcoming Raindrop Turkish House activities.

Governor of Texas, Honrable Rick Perry, extended his greetings to all in attendance at the Annual Interfaith Dialog Dinner of El Paso. He also indicated that he appreciates the demonstrating the importance of further mutual understanding and respect. First lady nad he extended their best wishes for a memorable celebration.
