The Institue of Interfaith Dialog in colloboration with the Raindrop
Turkish House added one more luncheon forum to its history of
successful series of luncheon forums. On December 9th, Raindrop hosted
honorable Robert Wegener, Oklahoma Secretary of Energy. Wegener is
responsible for various executive entities including: Commission on
Marginally Producing Oil and Gas Wells, Corporation Commission, Grand
River Dam Authority, Oklahoma Department of Mines and many more. In
2005, Wegener represented Oklahoma in Azerbaijan to help initiate
economic and educational partnerships between Oklahoma and the former
Soviet Republic.Secretary of State Susan Savage, the Edmond Public Schools Superintendent David Goin were among some of the porminent public servants who attended the lunch. Dr. Vahap Uysal from the University of Oklahoma emceed the program. Dr. Uysal's introduction of the Secretary Wegener shed light on many interesting points in the Secretary's life, such as his being big fun of Kris Kristopherson when he was a College Student.
In his presentation, Secretary Wegener offered his insights into
the ways energy policy and current and future research must interact to
maximize benefits to residents, communities and organizations
throughout Oklahoma and beyond. He said not only the state of
Oklahoma but also as the United State face the problem of scarce
energy.
