The Institute of Interfaith Dialog (IID) held the 3rd Dinner of Abrahamic Traditions on February 25, 2010 with the participation of 210 people including but not limited to community leaders, academicians and other distinguished guests. The dinner was followed by a splendid panel discussion entitled “Women in Abrahamic Traditions”. The three panelists were Rabbi Judith Z. Abrams of the Maqom School for Talmud Study, Bishop Janice R. Hui of Texas Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church (UMC), and Ayse K. Coskun of Yale School of Medicine and Hartford Seminary Islamic Studies and Christian Muslim Relations.

On February 25th, Raindrop Turkish House and The Institute of Interfaith Dialog (IID) Austin Chapter orginzed a dinner to celebrate the Black History Month. Travis County Sheriff Greg Hamilton honored the event as the speaker with his speech about Martin Luther King.

On February 18th, The Institute of Interfaith Dialog (IID) Austin Chapter organized another re-union dinner for the Alumni of Turkey Trips from Austin.
The event started with dinner full of delicious Turkish food. Then, IID Austin Chapter representative Dr. Veysel Demir gave a presentation about next trip plans, including Turkey Trips, Balkan Trips and Central Asia Trips. The night ended with a full-of-fun trivia quiz including questions about historical places of Turkey and traditions of Turkish people.

The Institute of Interfaith Dialog (IID) hosted congregation of “Peace Lutheran Church” for an enjoyable meal and wonderful evening of fellowship. Homemade Turkish meals were served for the dinner. Following the meal, Rev. Stephen Rieke made a presentation about beliefs and practices of the Lutheran denomination. Also, a member of IID gave information about the activities of The Institute of Interfaith Dialog.
Each month, IID College Station/Bryan hosts a congregation for a dinner to facilitate dialog among people of different faith communities and advance interfaith understanding.

The Institute of Interfaith Dialog and Raindrop Turkish House of Tulsa hosted FBI special agents for an educational fun night on Wednesday, November 18th. The program started with a Turkish dinner and followed by a presentation about FBI by special agent Ken Kuminski. Mr. Kuminski gave a detailed information about the history of FBI and the roles of FBI when it comes to the security of people. He described the differences between other agencies and FBI. The agents answered all the questions from the community. We thank FBI for their help with educating the members of IID and Raindrop Turkish House. (November 18,2009,Tulsa,OK)

The Institue of Interfaith Dialog in colloboration with the Raindrop
Turkish House added one more luncheon forum to its history of
successful series of luncheon forums. On December 9th, Raindrop hosted
honorable Robert Wegener, Oklahoma Secretary of Energy. Wegener is
responsible for various executive entities including: Commission on
Marginally Producing Oil and Gas Wells, Corporation Commission, Grand
River Dam Authority, Oklahoma Department of Mines and many more. In
2005, Wegener represented Oklahoma in Azerbaijan to help initiate
economic and educational partnerships between Oklahoma and the former
Soviet Republic.

The Institute of Interfaith Dialog was proud to present

Annual sponsored a Dialog and Friendship dinner at the Oklahoma City University
on November 24th, 2009. The event was co-sponsored with the Oklahoma
City University. The theme of this year's program was celebrating democracy as
a key to living together. The event was very timely as the spirit of friendship
and dialog reaches at its peak during the time of Thanksgiving. The crowd was
very eclectic and diverse. There were sixty elected officials from local,
state, and federal levels and people from liberal activists, conservatives, to
faith leaders. Also in attendance were Attorney General Drew Edmondson, State
Treasurer Scott Meacham, former mayor Ron Norick, multiple Senators and
Representatives, three University presidents, and many academic, faith,
business, andcommunity leaders.

was honored to present its 6th Annual Turkish - American Dialog & Friendship Dinner on
November 23th, 2009. The event was co-sponsored with the Texas Tech University.
The event was very timely as the spirit of friendship and dialog reaches at its
peak during the time of Thanksgiving. The crowd was very eclectic and diverse.
Including Mayor of Lubbock, City Attorney, Representatives, Chamber of
Commerce, Texas Tech University, FBI, community and religious leaders and
students became one voice to strengthen friendship in our community.

The Institute of Interfaith Dialog (IID) was honored to have its 7th Annual Dialog & Friendship Dinner on November 24th, 2009. At this unique event, the leading institutions in Houston including Houston Police Department, Rice University, University of Houston, University of St. Thomas, FBI, South Asian Chamber of Commerce, Texas Turkish American Chamber of Commerce, US Customs and Border Protection and 68 other institutions and congregations became one voice to strengthen friendship in our community. Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, State Representatives Alma Allen and Dora Olivo, Consul Generals of UK, Turkey, Switzerland and Norway were also present along with 380 distinguished guests to show their support to dialog and friendship in the community. The event was co-sponsored by the Gulen Institute and Raindrop Turkish House.

People of various nationalities and religions gathered at dinner tables
Wednesday for the seventh annual Interfaith Dialog and Friendship
Dinner at Oklahoma State University.
"It's important to bring people from different faiths and backgrounds
together at the same table to focus on common grounds and not
differences," OSU finance professor and Institute of Interfaith Dialog
volunteer Bilal Ertuk said. "If we can bring people together at the
same round table, I don't think there's a problem we couldn't solve."
