Dallas IID Chapter hosted a delegation of international visitors from Middle East studying Interfaith Dialogue. The group visited IID Dallas to learn more about the diversity of religions in the Metroplex, the various interfaith activities occurring in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and the roles that different religious and ethnic groups and the Institute of Interfaith Dialogue play in the local community. This delegation consists of journalists, professors, religious leaders, members of parliaments and community leaders. These distinguished participants represent nine countries from the Middle East.
Dallas IID Chapter hosted a delegation of international visitors from Africa studying Religious Freedom and Interfaith Dialogue. The group visited IID Dallas to learn more about the diversity of religions in the Metroplex, the various interfaith activities occurring in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and the roles that different religious and ethnic groups and the Institute of Interfaith Dialogue play in the local community. This delegation consists of fourteen English and French speaking religious leaders from Africa that have been nominated to participate in a regional project examining religious freedom and interfaith dialogue in the United States. These distinguished participants represent eleven countries on the African continent.
The Institute of Interfaith Dialog Dallas Chapter organized its first "Interfaith Prayer Gathering" on . Diverse part of the community participated in the prayer gathering and prayed in the way described in their faith. Pastor Olin Knudsen at Faith Lutheran Church in Flower Mound opened the program by talking the importance of prayer. Fr. Tony Ruiz form Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Rev. Tim Mclemore from Kesser Park United Methodist Church and Imam Nihat Yesil from Dallas Islamic Center joined the program with their beautiful prays.

Dallas IID's Saturday Socials program, The Office of Diversity and Community Engagement at UT Dallas and Turkish-American Woman Association (TAWA) hosted Maurine Dickey, Dallas County Commisioner , on January 31, 2009 at 6:00 PM. The topic of the talk was High Speed Rail for Texas. Host of the Program was Joe Cordina, Mayor of City of Parker. The I-35 corridor is the fastest growing population area in the U.S. By the year 2040, the population of Texas will have doubled to approximately 52 million people. 78% of that population will live along the I-35 corridor! Dallas IID visited Mayor of City of Addision Mr. Joe Chow on December 3, 2008. Dallas IID introduced him the activities of IID and invited him to future activities.
