On February 18th, The Institute of Interfaith Dialog (IID) Austin Chapter organized another re-union dinner for the Alumni of Turkey Trips from Austin.
The event started with dinner full of delicious Turkish food. Then, IID Austin Chapter representative Dr. Veysel Demir gave a presentation about next trip plans, including Turkey Trips, Balkan Trips and Central Asia Trips. The night ended with a full-of-fun trivia quiz including questions about historical places of Turkey and traditions of Turkish people.
The festival started with "Best Noah's Pudding Contest" and continued with live performances from different cultures, a movie screening on Bangladesh Culture & Customs and Children's Choir from the Unity Church of the Hills. Delicious foods were served and unique hand craft pieces were exhibited durig all day.

Austin Raindrop Turkish House hosted Austin Police Department The Institute of Interfaith Dialog (IID) and Austin Raindrop Turkish House hosted friendship and engagement dinner with Austin Police Department. Dinner started with introducing leaders of the Turkish American community in Austin. APD Chief Art Acevedo shared his remarks with Turkish community. Chief Acevedo spoke on commitment to excellence demonstrated by the men and women he leads. Chief of Staff David Carter introduced all officers participated to dinner to Turkish community. Mr. Demir spoke on activities of Raindrop Foundation. Dinner was ended with nice conversation around dinner tables.
Dialog and Friendship Dinner at University Presbyterian Church On October 23rd, The Institute of Interfaith Dialog (IID) Austin Chapter organized Dialog and Firendship Dinner at University Presbyterian Church. The Reverend San and Jan Williams and The Reverend Sam and Gretta Riccobene co-hosted this event. Anyone interested in a dialog dinner with Turkish Muslim people and working in Austin are invited. Invitees came togather and had table-conversation with people who seek peace through developing relationships and hospitality.

Ramadan Iftar Dinner at The Sheriff's Office On September 10th, 2009, Travis County Sheriff Greg Hamilton, Sheriff's officers and other guests including a group of high school teachers who attended to a trip to Turkey last summer, came together with the members of The Institute of Interfaith Dialog to share a Ramadan iftar dinner. Opening speech of Sheriff Greg Hamilton is followed by a delicious dinner including "Turkish Doner" and "Baklava".
On September 9th, 2009, members of The Institute of Interfaith Dialog had a Ramadan iftar dinner at The Texas State Capitol together with state representatives, elected officials and other guests. State Representatives Donna Howard and Elliott Naishtat spoke on importance of interfaith dialog.

Ramadan Iftar Dinner at The St. Edward's University On September 8th, faculty and students from The St. Edward's University and members of The Institute of Interfaith Dialog came together to share a Ramadan iftar dinner. After a delicious Ramadan dinner, George Martin, president of St. Edward's University, speak on importance of interfaith dialog. Many thanks to James Puglisi for helping to coordinate Ramadan dinner at St. Edward's University.
