The Institute of Interfaith Dialog hosted Mississippi
Humanities council members at Raindrop Turkish House on September 22nd,
2009. Program has started with having lunch prepared by local IID
volunteers. Following a presentation about Turkey and Turkey's historical and
cultural heritage, participants discussed how to improve future relationship
and have exchanged their information for future dialog.
The Institute of Interfaith Dialog Representatives at Jackson, MS has visited the Mayor of Jackson Harvey Johnson, Jr.
at his office. They gave brief
information about IID and talked about Turkey trips.
Mayor Harvey Johnson, Jr. was invited to the office of Raindrop Turkish
House at Jackson.
Institute of Interfaith Dialog Little Rock branch has organized the Fifth Intercultural and Friendship Dialog Dinner on Thursday October 1, 2009 at Embassy Suites Hotel in Little Rock. Main sponsor of the event was IID along with the Gulen Institute. The program attracted participants from a variety of institutions including universities, faith groups, and civic organizations. More than 150 individuals enjoyed Turkish baklava, live American Folk music performed by Dr. Ed Hale and Dr. Julie Flinn and live Turkish music performed by Murat
Al. In addition, participants had a chance to listen to Dr. Art English who is a faculty at Political Science Department at UALR and Dr. Alp Aslandogan, IID President.
Institute of Interfaith Dialog (IID) El Paso chapter organized a Friendship and Dialog dinner with El Paso County Sheriff Richard Wiles and his staff.Delicious Turkish dishes served to guests. Sheriff Wiles expressed his gratitude to IID volunteers for warm welcoming and friendship. IID volunteers gave a presentation about Institute of Interfaith Dialog, Trips to Turkey , and importance of Interfaith Dialog. Good fellowship and lively conversation made the evening a success.
