The Institute of Interfaith Dialog (IID) organizes an annual art contest for middle and high school students in Greater Houston Area. Middle and high-school students in Houston are invited to submit an original artwork on the theme of ‘Friendship and Dialogue’. Its purpose is to establish relations and facilitate cross-cultural and interfaith dialogue, understanding, reconciliation and cooperation and, in the process, to help counter the forces that fuel polarization and extremism.

The Institute of Interfaith Dialog , with sponsorships of Raindrop Turkish House , The Gulen Institute and University of Missouri-
Kansas City, has organized its 6th Annual Dialog and Friendship
Dinner on September 24th, 2009 at UMKC Pierson Auditorium.
Around 250 distinguished guests consisted of Senators, State
Representatives, Police Chiefs, Fire Chiefs, City Prosecutors,
Academicians, Pastors and Mayors participated to the dinner and shared their tables with one another. It was a successful event
where everybody could get to know each other, start new
friendships and break down the barriers of stereotypes and

Oklahoma City

 The Institute of Interfaith Dialog and Gulen Institute Raindrop Turkish House added one more success to its series of luncheon events at Raindrop Turkish House. On October 22nd, IID and Gulen Institute invited James Finch who has been recently appointed as Special agent in charge of FBI's Oklahoma City Field Office. Before this position, Mr. Finch served as Assistant Director of the Cyber Division at FBI Headquarters.

The Institute of Interfaith Dialog (IID) hosted University
of Texas El Paso (UTEP) and El Paso Community College (EPCC) students. Members of different
faith and cultural background were seated around a table and enjoyed
conversation during the dinner. The meals were prepared by the local IID members of the Turkish
community. The interaction among the cultures and faiths represented was heart warming.
IID programs, activities, and upcoming events presented to guests.

The Institute of Interfaith Dialog (IID) Representatives of El Paso had a courtesy visit to State, County, and City officials. IID representatives received warm welcome by the officials. IID volunteers gave brief information about IID, upcoming event of the institute, and talked about Turkey trips. Both parties emphasized the importance of working together closely by touching base the necessity of interfaith/intercultural dialogue in today's world.
